Transport authorities, federal authorities for goods traffic, motorway police and border authorities all work towards the common goal of maximum traffic safety. Preventive checking of the condition of tyres on lorries or passenger cars plays a significant role in this.

However, checks by the authorities at both local and national level are under tremendous economic pressure. On the one hand, checks have to be carried out using as few personnel as possible and, on the other hand, only small funds are available for an approach that optimises processes.
