On course for growth with innovative measuring technology
About ProContour GmbH
Since its foundation in 2006, the company has won various innovation and business awards. Today, ProContour GmbH develops, produces and monitors numerous tyre measuring systems at pan-European level for a wide variety of different public authorities and industrial user groups. The basic principle of the ProContour H3-D measuring system is the optical tread depth measurement.
Optical tread depth measurement has been ready for practical application for some years. However, until now, so-called light-section procedures were not used in conjunction with suitable sensors and computers that would enable reliable analysis beyond stationary applications. With its team of high-quality scientists and developers, ProContour GmbH is the first company in the world to offer this. The innovative character of the ProContour H3-D system is its groundbreaking application of state-of-the-art high-speed 3-D laser image processing and measuring technology (H3-D) to measure tyre tread in flowing traffic.
The core technology is on-chip processing and is patented worldwide. All systems are meticulously scrutinised at our production location before delivery in order to guarantee our customers absolute safety and reliability.
Within just four years, our tyre measuring systems have not only achieved absolute market maturity – spectacular further developments as a result of customer suggestions are in the pipeline – but, in order to meet the growing demand, we are currently looking for further representatives for sales throughout Europe.
The ProContour team of experts:
Frank Schäfer
Active for 18 years as development engineer, lateral thinker and technology leader in plant engineering, process engineering and software development, he today thinks nothing of developing numerous complex systems, solutions and machinery. He has the same attitude to his role as managing director. He regards himself as a “primus inter pares”, a key player without special privileges. The first among equals…
Dr. Ali Yarayan
Ali Yarayan (YARAYANCZECHLOUIS legal partnership - www.kanzlei-ycl.de) has a doctorate in copyright law specialising in database protection under German and Turkish law. Amongst other things, he today lectures at the University of Erlangen and is also an expert for the Turkish delegation at the EU Commission.
Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Thielmann
Studied aerospace engineering and, most recently, worked as Regional Sales Manager at one of the largest German machinery manufacturers in Africa and the Middle East. After working in sales for eleven years both in Germany and abroad, he not only speaks several foreign languages but he also understands the people behind them.
Prof. Dr. Ing. Andrew H. Clarke
As a leading scientist in measurement and image processing systems, he has been involved in US and European-Russian space missions (Spacelab 1, D1, Mir 92, Euromir 94, Euromir 95, ISS 2004, Astrolab 2006). He went on to found a high-profile technology company specialising in high-speed image sensors and is still involved with this company.
Dr. rer. nat. Friedrich-J. Baartz
Friedrich-J. Baartz is, among other things, founder and chief executive officer of Chronos Vision GmbH, one of the world’s leading technology companies in the field of high-speed image sensors and applications. Like Prof. Andrew Clarke, Dr. Friedrich Baartz has in-depth expertise and many years of experience in aerospace and medical technology.
Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Weber
Manfred Weber studied measurement and control technology at the Gauss Academy in Berlin, as well as solid-state electronics at the RWTH Aachen. At Blaupunkt, he was head of control engineering. In 1985, decided to change course somewhat and became a freelance development engineer. As co-founder of ProContour GmbH, Manfred Weber contributes his experience and expertise gained during the course of numerous electronic and measurement engineering projects in the area of custom engineering.
